Reincarnation System
Lands of Arda uses a system called "Reincarnation" to keep developing max level (40) characters. Reincarnation is also the only way to gain permanent haste. All other haste on items is only casted as a spell. Hence, there is major incentive to reincarnate atleast one time!
Once reaching level 40, a character may choose to convert all of their experience into a permanent power boost. They will be dropped to level 1, but with the following enhancements:
- +2 Ability Bonus to Str/Dex/Con/Int/Wis/Chr
- +1 to Attack Bonus
- +1 to Natural Armor
- +1 to Dodge Armor
- +2 to Spell Resistance
- +2 to Will/Reflex/Fort Save
- +3 to Lore Skill
- +3 to Spellcraft Skill
- +3 to Concentration Skill
- Haste
- +1 additional attacks per round
- +20% offensive spell damage (For most spells)
Note: Natural Armor and Spell Resistance bonuses will not stack with other sources.
Note: Ability Bonuses are not added as base stats. Instead, they are added as "Permanent Buffs". As such, they count towards your max bonus of +12 to abilities from items.
The reincarnation process may be repeated up to 4 times, with each set of enhancements stacking on top of the old ones. There is a drawback to this power, however. Each reincarnation also cuts earned experience points by half:
- 1st Reincarnation: Recieves 50% of normal experience points
- 2nd Reincarnation: Recieves 25% of normal experience points
- 3rd Reincarnation: Recieves 12.5% of normal experience points
- 4th Reincarnation: Recieves 6.25% of normal experience points
The House of Healing in Minas Tirith provides this reincarnation service. The House of Healing also offers other services, such as a way to "rebuild" your character from level 1 for 20,000 GP. There is no penalty to do so.
The House of Healing can also accept a "deposit" of all your experience points from a character, to give to another on the same account at a 20% penalty. Deposited experience from a reincarnate character will be multiplied back to normal/non-reincarnate experience after the 20% penalty is applied. Reincarnates who withdraw the experience will still take their standard experience penalty based on percentages mentioned above.
