Originally Beleg's blade, Turin received it from Gwindor, who kept it when he buried Beleg, the Elf who was accidentally slain by Turin. Since it was powerful but also heavy and dull, Turin chose to have it reforged. Sadly, reforging it did not purge the blade of its maker's malice. Turin used it for rash, senseless murders and finally turned the blade on himself. Gurthang broke as it slew him, and the shards were buried with him.
The edges of teh blade shone with pale fire, but the blade itself remained as black as it had been when named Anglachel. Gurthang and Turin were such a potent pairing of warrior and weapon that the Elves of Nargothrond called them Adan Mormegil. And while Turin hid his name from both Elves and Morgoth, he became known, on account of Gurthang, as the Black Sword of Nargothrond to the Orcs and other minions of Morgoth.

Although Théoden's niece, Eowyn, slew the Ringwraith and his Fell Beast, the Rohir King could not be saved. He died after passing the Royal Banner of the Mark to Eowyn's brother Éomer. His body was laid to rest complete with arms, armor, and shield in Minas Tirith, where he was born. His shield was emblazoned with the white horse on a green field that is the emblem of the realm. Théoden's shield and his remains were eventually removed to Rohan and placed in the eighth barrow-tomb of the Second Line.

Many among the Elves wore them in the First Age when the Two Trees still shone, but with the passing of time after their destruction they became increasingly rare. Among the Eldar. Galadriel and her mother Eärwen wore robes that possessed the properties given below. So did Elemmíre the minstrel who, ironically, wrote the Aldudénië, the song known to all the Eldar that laments the grievous tale of the destruction of the Two Trees by Morgoth and Ungoliant.
Those worn by Gil-galad had a greater degree of protection woven into their fabric, as befitted such a warrior. Radagast like all of the 5 Istari was known to wear such robes. It is said he became so taken by the beauty of the plants and creatures of Middle-Earth that he forgot about his task completely and wandered the world for the rest of his days.

The blades were originally wrought by smiths of Arthedain in the middle of the Third Age as daggers for use in the wars with Angmar. They were buried in a barrow in Tyrn Gorthad along with the last prince of Cardolan, who fell in battle with Angmar in TA 1409.

Commanded by four Arch-lichs and consisting of only a few powerful followers, this vile group is dominated by the tortured preachings of Ardana, the overlord of the Court of Ardor and mistress of its citadel near Mûmakan. They hope to summon Tredeinos, a spirit in the service of Morgoth. It is their believe that Tredeinos will lay waste the land and secure ultimate power for the Great Ennemie, insuring the Cult´s place in an Evil world ruled through terror and united under a lightless sky. The Soul Devourer was used as ceremonial knife to turn the commanders in powerful Arch-lichs. I was later stolen by the Tirdae Kalon and destroeyed with the help of the southern dragon Harndagnir. The shards have been scattered over the whole south.

Made of fine ithilnaur, this war hammer served the able mariner and shipwright as a mallet more often than as a weapon. Nevertheless, it was made for use on board voyages of exploration - it can serve as a belaying pin in time of need. The hammer floats in water.

The son of Beren and Luthien, Dior the Fair (S."Successor") was supernally beautiful, illumined by the blood heritage of three great races within his person: Maiar, Edain, and Eldar. He was Thingol's heir. After Luthien died and departed the circles of the world for all time, the Nauglamir came to Dior. He was unable to resist its beauty, and wore the necklace from dawn to dusk, and from dusk to dawn. Bearing the Nauglamir and its Silmaril about his throat, he was the most lovely of all Eru's children.
Those who coveted the Silmaril and dared not to take it from Luthien now moved against Menegroth. Thus came no less than three sons of Feanor: Celegorm, Curufin, and Caranthir. Dior's might in combat and in magic was demonstrated in the outcome of the tragic battle, for he slew all three Noldo princes, but was also slain himself.
While yet on Tol Galen, Dior married a kinswoman of Thingol named Nimloth and conceived three children by her: Elured, Elurin, and Elwing the White. Dior himself was tall (7'8") , very beautiful and possessed the fair complexion and Black-brown hair of his mother.

The bow remained with her when Galadriel founded her own realm in Endor and, at the last, returned to Aman when she sailed with the other Ringbearers. Sometimes called the Quick Bow.

Originally worn by Turgon in the Wars of Beleriand, Glamdring eventually came into fell hands and vanished into the hoard of pillaging Trolls. During the Erebor Quest in T.A. 2941, Gandalf claimed the ithilnaur broadsword as his share of Troll-hoard loot, and Thorin Oakenshield claimed its mate Orcrist. Gandalf used the blade until the end of the War of the Ring and took it over the Sea with him. The Orcs called this weapon Beater.

Elrond wielded Hadhafang at the end of the Second Age, during the War of the Last Alliance.
The blade is inscribed with Tengwar runes in Sindarin that say "Aen estar Hadhafang i chathol hen, thand arod dan i thang an i arwen. Idril i hel en aran Gond dolen.", which translates to "This blade is called Hadhafang, a noble defense against the enemy throng for a noble lady. Idril, daughter of the king of the Hidden Rock (Gondolin)" (In Sindarin "Arwen" actually means "noble (or royal) woman").
