About Lands of Arda

Lands of Arda is a long-running Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition (NWN:EE) Persistent World set in Tolkien's Middle-earth. Built for players who enjoy long-term character progression, exploration, multiplayer adventure, and an evolving world that gives a meaningful challenge.

Lands of Arda is primarily an Action PvM (Player vs Monster), low-to-medium magic, Persistent World with rich lore, and does not focus on roleplay. Play solo or team up for party adventures, tackle dozens of quests, explore at your own pace, and grow stronger through challenging combat and clever builds.

The server difficulty is set to D&D hardcore rules.

History

Lands of Arda was originally built and designed in 2002 by Madwack. Since then, over a dozen players have had a hand in its development. Inspiration for most areas in the mod has been drawn from locations described in Tolkien's works, such as The Lord of the Rings, or places further expanded upon in MERP (Middle-earth Role Playing) adventure modules.

Lands of Arda is NWSync enabled, meaning it will automatically download and update the required files for you in the game client when you join the server. Use the download link below for additional portraits available at character creation.

Download and unzip the file into your Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition root directory, typically located in your Documents folder. Merge folder contents with existing "portraits" folder.
