Highly prized by armourers, the hide of black drakes bears tight, overlapping plates that harden with age. Harvesting both scales and the underlying leather is perilous--their blood is caustic and quickly fouls tools. Properly cured with alchemical mordants and molded under heat, the hide can be cut and stitched into durable scale or lamellar. Only the combined craft of a master armourer and an alchemist can render such enchanted skin serviceable.
